Cafreshworks.com is a website operated by the Northern California Community Loan Fund (NCCLF), a nonprofit organization. Cafreshworks.com provides lending resources to support healthy food retail and distribution in underserved communities in California. Our website is open to everyone but to obtain funding, a questionnaire must be downloaded and returned to us. That questionnaire is then circulated to lenders, who then facilitate loans themselves with individuals and organizations that meet their credit criteria. Because we are collecting information and displaying some of that information on our website, we want you to know what information we collect, and how we keep it.
Information about our programs is detailed on our website. Individuals and organizations seeking funding through our services are invited to download and fill out a questionnaire that can then be scanned and returned to us via US post or via email. Once we receive an questionnaire, we send them to lenders that have agreed to consider loans for suitable applicants. If a lender agrees to consider funding an applicant’s project, the lender communicates directly with the applicant(s).
The Information That We Store
The information that we collect on our questionnaire is basic identification and contact information, including social security or taxpayer ID numbers. We also collect information specific to the request for funding. That information includes business descriptions, management biographies and financial information. A complete list of the information that we collect can be found on our questionnaire, which is available on our website.
How the Information Is Stored and Used.
All questionnaires and accompanying exhibits are stored as “hard copies” and the information from the questionnaire may be entered into our database and stored on servers maintained by us or by a third party service provider. In evaluating applicants, lenders may obtain a copy of one or more credit report(s) and public records associated with the individuals and organizations listed on the questionnaire. We are not a party to, nor do we obtain or maintain any information other than the information supplied on an executed questionnaire.
The questionnaire information is not sold or disclosed to any third party other than employees of NCCLF, our partners, and prospective lenders and their vendors, such as billing and accounting companies.
At times we might aggregate the information and use it to optimize our site or make the user experience more efficient.
If demanded, we may make the information available to law enforcement or to individuals that have obtained a court ordered subpoena.
Individuals and organizations that receive funding through cafreshworks.com agree that we may use their names, the names of their organizations and information about the financed program on our website and in our marketing materials. If you do not wish to have your identity or information about your program appear in our marketing materials, please do not use our service.
How the Information Is Protected.
Our service providers and we have implemented industry standard measures to provide security on our servers and in our physical office. We cannot and do not guarantee that our servers will not be hacked or that third parties will not improperly obtain information stored by us.
